Our Impact

Second Chance Opportunities supports individuals in recovery by providing the tools they need to rebuild their lives—safe housing, stable employment, and personalized peer support. Since 2018, more than 1,300 people have turned to SCO for these essential services. The data demonstrates how SCO helps individuals achieve lasting recovery while generating meaningful benefits for families, communities, and the broader Capital Region.

Housing

83 beds for individuals in recovery, including single and family housing options.

97% success rate for individuals in our housing program, meaning a current tenant who is abstinent, a former tenant who maintained abstinence but moved into their own housing, or a former tenant of SCO housing who re-engaged with SUD treatment after experiencing a relapse.

43,875 miles driven by our SCOOT drivers, helping to eliminate transportation barriers faced by individuals in recovery.

2,566 rides for individuals in recovery, providing reliable, compassionate, and stress-free transportation to SUD and mental health treatment, non-emergency medical appointments, counseling sessions, support group meetings, and other critical services.

Janitorial Services

$2,779,956 in wages paid through janitorial contracts in partnership with NYSID, positioning individuals in recovery with opportunities for financial independence.

782,303 disabled labor hours, creating opportunities for individuals in recovery to actively participate in the New York State workforce.

Our Events

Over 300 attendees joined us for Recovery in the Park, our 7th annual community event in Washington Park in Albany.
